RACE RELAY® begins with immersive storytelling that invites participants into the lived experiences of others. Through performance, sound, movement, multimedia, and select 360° VR storytelling, stories are shared in ways that engage the whole person—mind, body, and emotion.
This shared experience moves conversations beyond abstraction and into moments of presence, recognition, and empathy. Immersive storytelling opens the door, creating a foundation for deeper listening and dialogue.
Following the storytelling experience, participants gather in guided community conversations. These dialogues are grounded in clear agreements that support respect, confidentiality, and care. Participants are invited to speak from personal experience, listen deeply, and engage at their own pace.
RACE RELAY® emphasizes reflection over debate, understanding over persuasion, and shared humanity over certainty.
RACE RELAY® integrates embodied practices—including movement and sound—to support reflection beyond words alone. These practices help participants slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and remain present with themselves and one another, creating space for emotional processing and integration.
A central part of the RACE RELAY® approach is intentionally passing the baton. The work does not end when an event concludes. Participants and community leaders are supported in continuing conversations through community dialogue circles in their own neighborhoods, schools, and cities.
By sharing facilitation practices, dialogue agreements, and storytelling frameworks, RACE RELAY® empowers communities to carry the work forward in ways that reflect their own voices and local contexts. This relay model allows connection and understanding to spread organically.
